Exterior paint fails at the prep, not the paint. We wash the surfaces first, scrape and sand anything peeling, spot-prime bare wood, caulk the gaps that let water in, and cover everything that isn't getting painted — windows, fixtures, plants, concrete.
Paint that stands up to North Texas weather
Full-sun south and west walls take the worst of it here. We use exterior acrylics rated for heat and UV, in two coats, and we'll tell you honestly which surfaces on your house are close to needing repair rather than paint.
Trim, doors, and shutters
Sometimes the whole house doesn't need paint — the body is fine and it's the trim, fascia, and front door that look tired. We do trim-and-door-only exterior jobs all the time, and it's the cheapest way to make a house look kept.
Caulk, primer, and the details that decide lifespan
The difference between an exterior repaint that lasts four years and one that lasts ten is almost entirely in the details nobody sees in the after photo: gaps caulked where trim meets siding so water stays out, bare wood spot-primed so the topcoat bonds, nail heads set and sealed so rust doesn't bleed through, and the right sheen on the right surface — flat hides siding patchwork, satin sheds dust and rinses clean on trim.
Color for Texas light
North Texas sun is brutal on dark colors — deep navies and charcoals on a west wall fade fastest and run hot. If you love a dark body color we won't talk you out of it, but we will tell you what it means for fading and repaint cycles, and we'll put large samples on the sunny side of the house so you're choosing from what the color actually does at 4pm in July, not what it does on a chip indoors.
Questions Worth Asking Any Painter
Whoever you hire — us or anyone — ask these before you sign: Is the estimate written, and what makes it change? Who is actually on the job, the person quoting or a rotating crew? What prep is included, specifically — filling, sanding, priming, caulking — and what happens if you find damage under the old paint? Which paint line and sheen, named in writing? And when is the final walkthrough, and is touch-up from it included? A good painter answers all five without flinching. Those answers are in every estimate we write, because the fastest way to stand out in this trade is simply to say what you'll do and then do it.

Every job starts with a look at the real surfaces — in person, or from photos you text to (214) 537-6962. You get a written number that holds unless the scope changes, a start date we treat as a promise, and a schedule that says which rooms or walls happen on which days. We confirm colors and sheens in writing before the first can is opened, protect everything that isn't being painted, and walk the finished work with you under good light before we call it done. If anything needs a touch-up at that walkthrough, it happens then — not after three phone calls.
